Benin has launched a new project for the construction of four solar power plants of 50MW each

These power plants will be built in different localities of the country including Bohicon 15 Mega watt, Parakou 15 Mega watt, Djougou 10 Mega watt and Natitingou 10 Mega watt and their construction has been entrusted to several companies including Super Solar, following a sustained call for tenders by the economic development program of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Benin.


Announced in a press release the signing of concession contracts for the development, financing, construction and operation of four solar power plants in Benin.

The four projects are part of the program of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Benin and other foreign investors,

the objective of the project is to reduce poverty in Benin through investments in economic and sustainable growth. and to supply certain localities where there is a strong absence of electrical energy.


Funding of 409.5 million euros (421 million dollars) provided in grants by foreign investors (30 million dollars, or approximately 29 million euros) is provided by the government of Benin.the four projects have also benefited from the support of the company

Super Solar which will provide all 30% of the mounting systems as well as the support of the international finance company, an organization of the World Bank group dedicated to the private sector, and l development finance institution.
